Afro·brain is a journey, clocking in at 12 tracks and 50 minutes, but it is never dull. Each track exudes a sort of otherworldly eeriness akin to great works of ambient or trip hop music...It will bend and plant seeds in your mind, while also managing to be a very enjoyable listen as well. Music of this caliber is what makes up the lifeblood of a city like Louisville’s music scene.

How do you describe the indescribable? This is the problem I find myself faced with every time I write about Kaleidico, a band that defies any and all ready comparisons...there is no doubt that every single sound that you hear, from the drums to the synth to the voice was and is at every turn scrutinized and carefully measured against the weight of the whole...

It gives me the vibe of doggedly sludging through an icy, inhospitable land while on some sort of noble quest...

Afrobrain builds on the magic and mystery of their previous work in a way that feels natural

Zoetic is such a nice piece of music that seems to magically assemble all the best qualities of Radiohead, Tame Impala, and Air into one cohesive whole. No one instrument leads the way, with delicate drum machines quietly tapping out beats, arpeggiated keyboard lines, chiming delayed out guitar, and tuneful bass work serving as the vehicle for some especially dreamy vocals

A modern-feeling masterpiece. The result puts listeners in a trance, in the best way possible

...combines the layered instrumentation and vocal harmonies of Grizzly Bear with some Radiohead otherworldliness and Animal Collective psychedelia

The Zoetic B-Sides illustrate a band in transition between what they were and what they will become, allowing a deeper look into their collective conscious, both compositionally and tonally. It serves as a bridge between their freshman and sophomore releases, if only by comparatively underscoring their evolution from more acoustic instrumentation to their earliest forays into electronic sounds. Ultimately these songs are more than just sonic driftwood or musical ephemera, though, and they cohere into an equally beautiful whole worthy of its own critical attention...I suppose we are to consider this offering as the Zoetic B-Sides, but after a few listens, I can tell you right now that this material is as good as anything we’ve heard from Kaleidico
— NeverNervous
You can absolutely hear the DNA for Zoetic here, but there is a bit more acoustic instrumentation at work in a way that relates more to Free Falling Waltz. It’s nice to recognize those moments of a band in motion...that delicate shift between worlds is evident and stands out beautifully as such
